On behalf of the European Association of Psychology and Law (EAPL), it is our pleasure to invite you to the Annual Conference of the European Association of Psychology and Law, which will take place in Vilnius (Lithuania) in 2025.
The European Association of Psychology and Law (EAPL), founded in 1982, promotes the exchange between Psychology and Law, both in research and practice. The Annual Conference of the European Association and Law is organized each year in a different European city, and brings together researchers, practitioners, and other parties involved in legal settings. The aim of the Conference is to promote and improve new research, applied programs and legal procedures.
The 2025 EAPL conference will take place in Vilnius, Lithuania, on August 5-8, 2025.
The scientific program will be addressing the key issues in psychology and law. Different areas of forensic psychology and criminology will be explored, such as forensic risk assessment and management, victims and offenders, biological and genetic bases of violence, investigative psychology, forensic and psychological assessment, criminal investigation, with a specific focus on technological advancements and application in legal psychology. We will organize a pre-conference workshop related to this topic. Researchers and practitioners from Europe and other parts of the World are invited to share their recent scientific work and field experience concerning new challenges faced in legal processes.
Rita Žukauskienė is a Professor at MRU. She has coordinated several national and international research projects, which have received international recognition for their quality, relevance, and dissemination of innovative ideas. Currently, she leads the project „PROMISE: Psychological Adjustment in Emerging Adulthood After Adverse Childhood Experiences: The Role of Resilience and Perceived Social Support“. The outcomes of her research are presented in research papers. Her research work has been acknowledged by the National Award for Excellence in Sciences.
Aleksandr Segal is a researcher at MRU. His research focuses on investigative interviewing and legal decision-making and the psychological impacts of trauma, particularly in cases of child sexual abuse and domestic violence. He is actively involved in research projects, which aim at assessing the lifetime prevalence of child sexual abuse and developing a Lithuanian version of simulated interview software. Currently, he is part of a research team studying the effectiveness of Avatar training services and the role of resilience and social support after adverse childhood experiences. His research work has been presented at numerous international conferences and published in leading journals.
